Ton: Jelena Sinik
DarstellerInnen: Alex Rabey

Adapted from the poem “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” by T. S. Eliot, Imagining Time is designed in a dual screen format. The animation combines notions of the disruption of the everyday; magical realism and surrealism with the themes of isolation, introversion and passivity from the poem.

Delayed Boomerang

Frankreich 2015, Farbe, 1:58 Min.
Regie, Drehbuch, Kamera,
Schnitt, Ton: François Roux

Throwing seeds up in the air expecting them to grow? The boomerang left my hand a long time ago but never came back. After a while I forgot about it, and it was there, blooming at my feet. With this video, I wanted to move from a bunch of fragments to a whole, from words to a sentence, from a series to a montage.

In this hand drawn animation a line is being extrapolated through a grid. When the line surpasses the boundaries of the grid, the process spreads to its surroundings. Here the extrapolation of movement is causing deformation in a systematic but speculative way.

How to survive in France if you are French

Rumänien 2015, Farbe, 1:40 Min.
Regie, Drehbuch, Kamera,
Schnitt, Ton: Daniel Djamo

A simulated guide on how the French can survive in France, during the age of ISIS. Although shot only 3 days after the Paris attacks, the work does not wish in any way to offend Muslim believers and does not intend to incite to a discriminative-Far-Right behaviour. It utilises humour in order to relax a tensioned situation.

Folded Landscape (El Páramo)

Frankreich 2016, Farbe, 2:18 Min.
Regie, Drehbuch Schnitt,
In-Camera editing: Andrés Baron
Kamera: Francisco Medina
DarstellerInnen: Céline Shen

The film is about a landscape that is folded in two by the hands of woman in a studio set. The folded photograph is called “El Páramo”, the image depicts a desolated landscape in Colombia. For me the image as an object and its materiality is more important that what it represents. The film is an attempt to make that idea in a literal way.
